We’ve launched new Hub pages for each Manchester Triage System tool. These pages will contain everything you need to know about each tool from the background and methodology to Instructor teaching materials and resources. We hope these Hub pages will make it easier for you to find what you’re looking for. We’re still adding content to the pages so more things will appear over the next few weeks. We’re also revising our e-learning topics and will be launching those soon. The new menu bar above contains links to all the Hub pages, as well as pages to help you navigate the rest of the site, access your current courses and contact us if you’ve got any questions.

Janet Marsden Award
Professor Janet Marsden was one of the founders of the highly acclaimed Manchester Triage System (MTS) which was founded in 1994. Sadly Janet passed away in 2018, aged just 57 years old. In recognition of her work and commitment to the MTS, we are pleased to launch the second Janet Marsden Research Bursary in acknowledgement of her contribution and this award is now officially open. The winning submission is announced at the bi-annual UK International Triage Conference which will take place in 2023, date yet to be confirmed. If you are interested in applying for the Janet Marsden Bursary, please click here. Read about the benefits of undertaking a research bursary click here.

Non-UK centres - Clinical Instructor training
For licencing, see the section ‘Licencing the use of MTS Clinical Risk Management Tools’ on any of the individual Triage Hubs (see link in top menu). There are already established Manchester Triage Reference Groups around the World who provide a local contact for MTS – to see a complete list, see the Global links section below. The leads for each country are listed on this linked page and they will be able to provide guidance on providing triage and training instructors. If your country is not on the list, you may wish to consider sending some key people on an instructor training course as this will also help you to identify if MTS is suitable for your country. These courses are now delivered as two half days via remote platforms, to find out further details, see the links below:- Emergency Triage Instructor Training

- Prehospital Pathfinder Instructor Training

Non-UK centres - becoming a member of the MTS International Reference Group
If you already have experienced instructors in MTS in your country and you have decided that you would like to set up a formal MTS group in a country where there is not already representation (see current list of IRG member countries in the Global links section below), then you should contact us via our Help Desk form. You will then be sent a Memorandum of Understanding which outlines the way in which local MTS groups work and their relationship with the International Reference Group (IRG) and the Manchester Triage Group centrally.
MTS Annual Review
The International Reference Group (IRG) meets annually. Each country produces an annual review and a summary will be posted here.
Please note that in 2021 the format of the annual review was discussed at the IRG meeting and therefore the next published overview will not appear until late 2022, early 2023.
